Accessibility Statement
Cool Smilez Family Dentistry & Orthodontics is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.
Our Commitment
We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Measures Taken
Cool Smilez takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission and internal policies.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
- Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.
- Provide a skip-to-content link at the top of every page for keyboard users.
- Ensure all images have descriptive alternative text.
- Use semantic HTML landmarks (
main, nav, header, footer) for screen reader navigation. - Ensure all form fields have properly associated labels.
- Provide sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text).
- Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard accessible with visible focus indicators.
- Mark decorative images and icons as
aria-hiddento reduce screen reader noise. - Use
aria-labelandaria-expandedattributes on navigation menus and dropdowns.
Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address any remaining gaps.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some older blog posts may have images without optimal alternative text descriptions — we are reviewing and updating these.
- Third-party embedded content (such as booking widgets) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We are working with our vendors to improve this.
