What to Do in a Dental Emergency

Call us immediately at 786-600-0494. For a knocked-out tooth, handle it by the crown (not the root), rinse gently, and try to reinsert it or keep it in milk. For severe pain or swelling, take over-the-counter pain relievers and apply a cold compress. Do not put aspirin directly on the gum — it can cause burns.

Go to the emergency room if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe uncontrolled bleeding, a jaw injury from trauma, or swelling that is spreading to your neck or eye. These are signs of a life-threatening emergency. For all other dental emergencies, call us first.
