Dental Crowns in Hialeah & Miami Gardens

Dental Crowns in Hialeah & Miami Gardens

A dental crown fully covers a damaged tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. Cool Smilez provides high-quality crowns at both our Hialeah and Miami Gardens offices.

When a tooth is too damaged for a filling — whether from a large cavity, a crack, or a root canal — a dental crown is often the best solution. A crown is a custom-made cap that fits over the entire visible portion of the tooth, restoring its function and appearance. At Cool Smilez Family Dentistry, we offer tooth-colored porcelain and porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns for a natural look.

When You Need a Crown

  • Large cavity that cannot support a filling
  • Cracked or fractured tooth
  • Tooth that has had a root canal
  • Severely worn tooth from grinding
  • Broken tooth or broken cusp
  • To anchor a dental bridge
  • To cover a dental implant

The Crown Process

Getting a crown typically takes two visits. At the first visit, we prepare the tooth, take impressions, and place a temporary crown. At the second visit (usually 2 weeks later), we remove the temporary and cement the permanent crown. We will check your bite and make any adjustments needed.

Types of Crowns We Offer

We offer all-ceramic (tooth-colored) crowns for front teeth and visible areas, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns for strength in back teeth, and full-metal crowns for back molars when maximum durability is needed. We will recommend the best option for your specific tooth.

Insurance & Cost

Most dental insurance plans cover crowns when medically necessary. We accept Florida Medicaid and most major PPO dental insurance plans. We also offer financing for any out-of-pocket costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do dental crowns last?
With proper care, dental crowns typically last 10-15 years or longer. Good oral hygiene and regular checkups help extend their lifespan.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia so you should not feel pain. Some sensitivity after the anesthesia wears off is normal and temporary.
Can a crowned tooth get a cavity?
The crown itself cannot decay, but the tooth underneath can. Good brushing and flossing at the gumline is important to protect the margin of the crown.
Do you accept Medicaid for crowns?
Yes. We accept Florida Medicaid at both our Hialeah and Miami Gardens locations.
