How Fluoride Treatments Work

We apply a concentrated fluoride varnish, gel, or foam to your teeth. The fluoride is absorbed into the enamel, making it more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria. The treatment takes just a few minutes and you should avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes afterward.

Fluoride Varnish for Children

For young children, we use fluoride varnish — a sticky coating applied directly to the teeth. It is safe, effective, and recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics starting at age 6 months.

Insurance Coverage

Fluoride treatments are typically covered by insurance for children under 18. Coverage for adults varies by plan. We accept Florida Medicaid and most major PPO dental insurance plans.
